The results of the Prose and Poetry competitions will be announced tonight at the poetry reading by Derry O’Sullivan. Derry has been judging the poetry section while the prose has been judged by MILG committee member James Byrne.

Over the next few weeks we will be publishing entrants from the 2011 competition including the shortlist and winning piece – a lovely reminiscence by Eilís Uí Bhriain from Dubhros in County Cork. There were 12 entries in all, a mix of poems, short stories and prose writing. First up will be Sean Quebec, a romantic poem by MILG member Joe O’Reilly
